A plateau that brings together almost all the types of marshland found in the Northern Alps. It is home to over a hundred wetlands, ranging in size and ecological type.
The Gavot Plateau is home tonumerous villages, such as Champanges, Féternes, Larringes, Vinzier, Saint-Paul-en-Chablais, Bernex and Thollon-Les-Mémises.
The Gavot Plateau is ideal for nature lovers; there are plenty of hiking trails and family walks to enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges and Lake Geneva along quiet paths and minor roads. For the more adventurous, the Gavot Plateau is also the starting point for challenging hikes such as the Dent d’Oche.
There are 17 mountain bike trails on the Gavot Plateau, mainly along minor roads, offering the chance to discover the magnificent views of the lake as well as the rich religious heritage.
