The Châtel Cultural and Touristic Centre

Designed as a true “landscape building,” it evokes a rocky promontory offering exceptional views of the surrounding mountains. From its upper levels, visitors and residents can enjoy a unique immersion in the heart of the Chablais landscape. The building’s architecture interacts with the site’s topography to create a natural continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces. Inspired by local heritage, the project combines noble materials such as stone and wood. Its wood-clad exterior, featuring contemporary burnt-out hues, elegantly reinterprets the simplicity of traditional mountain barns. The Cultural and Tourist Center will be a shared community space where you’ll find: * The new tourist office Starting this summer, the entire Châtel Tourisme team will be delighted to welcome you to its new, more modern, spacious, and bright facilities, which open onto the plaza and the heart of the village. Châtel Tourisme will thus offer vacationers a modernized welcome, a unique observation deck, and seamless service combining in-person and digital interactions. Access will be from the main road, via the footbridge. * A versatile, professional performance hall Designed to host a wide variety of events, the performance hall features retractable bleachers that allow for several configurations: - 250 seats with the bleachers fully extended. - 90 seats with the bleachers partially extended for more intimate settings. - 600 standing spaces with the bleachers folded away, ideal for concerts and large gatherings. The venue is equipped with professional-grade stage equipment, including a high-performance sound system, a dedicated lighting rig, and fixed and motorized rigging structures. This equipment allows the venue to host professional shows, concerts, artistic performances, conferences, and technical events under optimal conditions. This multipurpose venue is designed to host cultural events as well as community, local, or tourist events. Several layout options are available: -Up to 200 seats with a dance floor, for weddings or receptions. -Up to 250 seats, for public meetings, bingo games, or conferences. A fully equipped kitchen completes the facilities, featuring a warming area, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, and a dedicated dishwashing area. * A fully equipped meeting room The building also includes a separate meeting room, perfectly suited for seminars, business meetings, or private events. It can accommodate up to 90 people standing or 60 people seated and features a screen with a videoconferencing system to facilitate remote communication.
