Description

Opening of the exhibition "The Savoy of the Annexation". In 1860, Savoy became French. One hundred and fifty years later, only a small trace of this event remains in national historiography.
In the hearts of the Savoyard people, Savoie's attachment to France is still very much alive. "Annexation" was the result of a slow process, which accelerated after the Plombières interview on July 21, 1858. The interplay of alliances, war and propaganda - both pro- and anti-annexation - led to the peaceful attachment of Savoy and Nice to France by a broad popular consensus. Groups welcome on Tuesdays and Thursdays, by prior reservation only, by e-mail: [email protected] or by telephone: 07 72 05 59 31.
