The “Ville et Pays d’Art et d’Histoire” (Town and Country of Art and History) label is awarded by the Ministry of Culture to local authorities that are committed to promoting their architecture and heritage. The Vallée d’Abondance was awarded the Pays d’Art et d’Histoire label in 2003. The extension of the label to all the communes of Leman Mountains Explore was approved in August 2019.
