Take a stroll through the cloister and admire its 15th-century murals, before exploring the exhibition ‘From History to Art: Sacred Heritage in the Abondance Valley’ in the former monastery. Then, let yourself be swept away by the tranquillity of the orchard.
Abondance Abbey unveils its treasures and history. Let yourself be captivated by this site, a unique medieval gem in the Savoie region. Stroll through the cloister and admire its 15th-century murals; discover the art of fresco painting and the many sculptures that adorn the galleries. Explore the exhibition ‘From History to Art: Sacred Heritage in the Abondance Valley’, housed in the former convent buildings, before ending your visit in the garden, which offers a breathtaking view of the monument’s architecture. During your visit, a QR code gives you access to the visitor assistance website, where you can download audio guides and descriptions of the artworks directly to your smartphone. Available in French, English, Italian and German.

    The entrance to the site is located at Place de l’Abbatiale, accessible from the village centre via the Passage des Chanoines.

    Separate access to the church (no visits during services).
