Mountain villages were long isolated during the winter, but they did have schools. Explore La Chapelle d’Abondance to trace the history of its successive schools from the 19th and 20th centuries and follow the evolution of public education.

Be sure to wear clothing appropriate for the weather and shoes suitable for walking. Reservations can be made at the Tourist Information Offices in the Pays d’Evian-Vallée d’Abondance region—Leman Mountains Explore. Reservations are recommended for tours. You can make a reservation right up until the last minute through the online store. Guides cannot accept cash payments under any circumstances. If the tour is at capacity, the guide has the right to refuse visitors. If the tour is at capacity, online reservations are no longer available.
