This site, covering more than 5 hectares and designated as a Sensitive Natural Area and a ZNIFFE zone (Area of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest), is a rare example of an urban park of high ecological value.
Neuvecelle Park has been developed within a wetland crossed by a stream, enabling it to feature a pond, varied and abundant vegetation, as well as various animal species that come here to rest and recharge.
The park offers a wide variety of natural landscapes, ranging from woodland and meadows to wetlands. The vegetation is lush and diverse, featuring trees such as oaks, maples and willows, as well as plants typical of wetland environments. This rich vegetation creates an ideal habitat for numerous animal species. Visitors may spot birds such as the park’s iconic heron, which lives in the wetlands, as well as insects and mammals such as squirrels and, on occasion, even roe deer. This peaceful setting allows visitors to discover the local wildlife in a well-preserved environment that is perfect for quiet observation.
The park is more than just a nature reserve. It was designed as an educational and awareness-raising space accessible to all, featuring information boards, a fitness trail and rest areas.
This rich and varied natural environment makes it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts, whether on a peaceful stroll or a walk whilst keeping a keen eye out for wildlife.
