Champanges is one of the oldest villages on the Gavot plateau. A visit there takes you to the wash house where, in days gone by, women used to wash their laundry. First, they would boil water in a ‘bouillandire’ (in local dialect) before washing the laundry using ash from wood-burning stoves and Sommières clay (a stain remover).
On a guided tour, children can have a go at this traditional practice.
A veritable balcony overlooking Lake Geneva, Lugrin is the largest municipality in the region. It is known for its chestnut trees – which have played a significant role inthe history of the Lake Geneva region – and for its famous kirsch.
François, a guide with a passion for history, takes us on a tour of the village to discoverthe history of the kings, the churches andthe region’s traditional architecture. He also tells us about the geological formation of the region and the origins of Lake Geneva.

In the 18th century, the village of Vacheresse purchased the mountain pasture to feed its livestock. Old maps drawn up by the Duchy of Savoy provide an insight into how the mountain pastures were organised at the time.
The guided walk also offers geological insights into tectonic plates and the formation of the Chablais massif.
This little-known vineyard full of character is run by Manon, who has been carrying on the family tradition for three generations.
Accompanied by Florent, a mountain guide with a passion for history, you’ll set off in search of old wine presses, which bear witness to the village’s wine-growing tradition.
Combining history, legends and geology, this fascinating tour concludes with a wine tasting in the heart of the vineyards, set against a picture-perfect backdrop.
