The Dranse Riverside Walk from Abondance to Châtel

• Description: This route follows the river, passes through the hamlet of Richebourg and runs close to the centre of La Chapelle d’Abondance, offering opportunities for a tasty break. The path is suitable for families and keen walkers, and is even accessible to pushchairs.

Walking route along the Dranse: From La Chapelle d’Abondance to Abondance

• Distance: Approximately 15.7 km (return)​
• Difficulty: Moderate​
• Starting point: Centre of La Chapelle d’Abondance​
• Description: This walk follows the river between La Chapelle d’Abondance and Abondance and is ideal for families. The path offers views of the surrounding mountains and passes through pastureland where you may spot Abondance cattle.

Cycle route along the banks of the Dranse

• Distance: Approximately 20 km (one way)
• Difficulty: Easy​
• Starting point: Centre of the village of Abondance​
• Description: This route follows the river to the hamlet of Très-les-Pierres in Châtel. The route is easy and suitable for families, with very little climb. It takes you through areas of ecological interest and allows you to discover the local heritage.

• Location: Les Carres, on the outskirts of Abondance heading towards La Chapelle d’Abondance​
• Services: Mountain bike and electric mountain bike hire, maintenance and repairs, sale of bikes, parts and accessories. Charging point for electric bikes available. ​

Situated near the mouth of the Dranse, the Dranse Delta Park is a remarkable natural area, offering a mosaic of habitats: wetlands, wooded areas, scrubby edges and meadows. Educational display points provide an opportunity to learn more about this protected ecosystem.
