The “Ville et Pays d’art et d’histoire” label is awarded by the French Ministry of Culture to local authorities committed to promoting their architecture and heritage. The Vallée d’Abondance was awarded the Pays d’art et d’histoire label in 2003. The extension of the label to all Leman Mountains Explore communes has been approved for August 2019.
