Ticks, those tiny creatures that can be a nuisance in the great outdoors, can transmit diseases. What are they? How do they live, and how can we protect ourselves from them? These are just some of the questions we’ll answer to help you enjoy worry-free outings!
Ticks, those tiny creatures that bother us when we’re out in nature or working in the garden, can transmit diseases to humans and animals.
But what exactly is a tick? Why are they a concern for nature lovers? How do they live? How can we minimise bites?
These are just some of the questions we will answer during this evening event, featuring a talk and a series of fun, hands-on science workshops (exhibition, quiz, observation through a binocular microscope, etc.), which will give you a better understanding of the species so you can protect yourself more effectively and enjoy your outings without worry!
This awareness-raising event is brought to you by the CPIE Chablais-Léman in partnership with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Health Agency.
Founded in 2012, the Art terre association was accredited as the Chablais-Léman Centre for Environmental Initiatives (CPIE) in 2018, thereby joining a network of 80 organisations working to protect the environment and promote the ecological transition across the region.
We have two main missions:
- To raise awareness and engage the people of Chablais
- To support the Chablais region by promoting collective action.
We work on three main themes:
- The preservation of natural habitats and landscapes
- Sustainable food
- Environmental health
Speaker’s biography:
