Before going skiing, Take out your insurance

Have you finished planning your skiing holiday? You’ve chosen your destination, the resorts where you’re going to ski and even the slopes you want to ski down? Great!

But have you thought about the unexpected? Unfortunately, no-one is immune to the hazards of the slopes, and even if you’re a good skier and you’re careful, an accident can still happen. Remember, you’re not alone on the slopes!

To cover yourself in the event of an accident, we strongly recommend that you take out insurance! Below, you’ll find the various ski insurance policies you can take out for the resorts in our area.

Snowrisk card - Portes du Soleil

Would you like to ski in the Portes du Soleil area? Then the Snowrisk card is the right choice for you.

This insurance directly covers all search and rescue costs, as well as medical repatriation. Depending on the insurance options you take out, the insurance will reimburse you for your RM ski pass or Nordic access card and your ESF lessons booked and paid for in advance.

In the event of interruption of your stay due to accident, illness (with hospitalisation) or early return, the insurance will reimburse your RM ski pass or your Nordic access card and your ski lessons on a pro rata basis for the days not used.

On sale at lift ticket offices.

Emergency services Advice from the ski patrols

Here is some advice from mountain professionals:

  • Skiers and snowboarders, for your own safety, don’t park under bumps and slope breaks.
  • Before embarking on a run, make sure it is suitable for your skiing ability
  • Fatigue is the cause of many accidents: be vigilant
  • If you witness an accident and raise the alarm, be sure to give the name of the piste, the number of the marker and the nature of the injuries.
  • Respect closing times
  • After the slopes are closed, damage machines equipped with inconspicuous cables carry out maintenance.
  • For obvious safety reasons, we would like to remind you that sledging and skiing are strictly forbidden on the roads and in the streets of the village.
  • You are entirely responsible for any use outside the marked runs.
