Use bicycle transport

By Train

By TER
Bicycles are carried free of charge on TER trains, subject to available space. On-board signage clearly indicates the spaces reserved for bicycles. We recommend that you use the off-peak times from 9.30am to 4pm. (tandems, tricycles, recumbent bicycles and trailers are not permitted on TER trains).

On LEX
On LEX trains (Leman Express), there is a charge for carrying bicycles on cross-border train journeys. Passengers must carry a ticket for themselves and another for their bike: the Léman Pass bike ticket is free on TER or Léman Express trains on the French side as far as Annemasse and is not subject to the conditions mentioned above.

By TGV
On INOUI TGV trains, if you are travelling with a non-folding, non-removable bicycle, you must reserve a seat for the bicycle at a cost of €10. The bicycle must then be stored in a dedicated space. If you are travelling with a folding or detachable bicycle, the bicycle can travel as hand luggage.
On OUIGO TGVs, folding or dismantling bicycles cost 5 euros, but you must book in advance (up to 10 minutes before departure) and carry your bicycle in a bag. On LYRIA TGVs, only dismantled and folded bicycles are accepted on the train, and these are accepted free of charge.

By Boat

Provided that space permits, bicycles may be carried on all our boats, with the exception of races marked with the symbol.

How much does it cost?

The SBB “cycle” day pass costs CHF 15 (valid for the whole day). This card can be purchased directly on board our boats. Folded or dismantled bicycles (max 1.20 x 0.80 x 1.00 m), packed in a bag before boarding, are transported free of charge.
