Braitaz Ski Area The pistes at La Chapelle d'Abondance
The La Chapelle d’Abondance ski area comprises 2 ski sectors, Braitaz and Crêt-Béni, with a total of 25 runs, 2 boardercrosses, 1 fun run and 1 toboggan run. All are accessible with a single ski pass. This includes all the lifts in both sectors, plus the Conche and Dieu des Têtes ski lifts in the Torgon ski area in Switzerland (linked from Braitaz).
- Braitaz sector: Linked to Torgon (in Switzerland). 800 m of vertical drop through the fir trees will delight lovers of great skiing.
Links to the other Portes du Soleil resorts via Torgon and Super-Châtel. - Crêt-Béni sector: guaranteed great snow all winter long. Discover the magnificent setting of Mont de Grange, from the easy green run for beginners to the red run for experienced skiers. 566 m vertical drop in the forest, linked by shuttle bus to Torgon, Châtel and Portes du Soleil.

The Ecole du Ski Français (ESF) at La Chapelle d’Abondance teaches young and old alike the most advanced skiing techniques. It is constantly adapting its know-how, services and facilities to the latest trends.
60 instructors are ready to lead you safely through the La Chapelle d’Abondance and Portes du Soleil ski areas.
From the first steps to competition, the ESF gives you the desire and the means to surpass yourself and discover all the attractions of the mountains. Downhill skiing, of course, but also cross-country skiing, which is attracting a growing number of enthusiasts, snowboarding, biathlon and freestyle or freeride – in short, all the snow sports are taught by specially trained instructors.
A Nordic areaAccessible to all
La Chapelle d’Abondance offers you the largest Nordic area in the Abondance valley.
With 23km of daily groomed runs, you’ll be able to enjoy 5 runs of varying levels, with double tracking for both skating and cross-country skiing.
- The Foyer 4 Saisons, right next to the Nordic area, is open every day from 9am to 5pm (depending on the opening of the Nordic area) for your convenience, with access to the toilets and everything you need to eat and rest.
- The snack bar is open from 9.30am to 5pm every day during school holidays and from Wednesday to Sunday outside school holidays (depending on the opening hours of the Nordic area).
It offers refreshments and snacks to eat in or take away. - There is no Nordic ski equipment for hire. For equipment hire, please refer to the resort’s sports shops.
- As well as Nordic skiing, other activities are available in the Nordic area: biathlon, Nordic Park, orienteering and toboggan run.
- Ski passes can be purchased at the La Panthiaz and Crêt-Béni ski lift ticket offices, at the Foyer 4 Saisons and at the Planet Gliss shop (only for days and half-days at the latter 2 locations).
