The Orchestre des Pays de Savoie welcomes conductor Arie van Beek, and cellist Edgar Moreau with his iconic interpretation of the Rococo Variations.
Program. Edgar Moreau rediscovers the irresistible Rococo Variations by Tchaikovsky, one of the great wonders of the cello. The piece is a rich musical journey, alternating classical refinement and romantic passion in a true celebration of the cello. In addition to Haydn’s Isola disabitata, an authentic deserted island work, the Piano and String Quintet in F minor is one of the most impressive chamber music pieces by the young Johannes Brahms. This Quintette, arranged by the Dutch composer Henk de Vlieger, thus fulfils a dream of music lovers: to play a new symphony by Brahms.
